Engel von Willow Tree

Willow Tree is a personal collection of angels and other figurative sculptures representing human qualities and sentiments that help us feel close to others.

The name Willow Tree was deliberately chosen by the artist Susan Lordi to express the romance and the gesture of the figures. The figures are shaped like a tree and often carry objects that symbolise closeness to nature and can be understood as metaphors. Rosemary stands for remembrance, a bird for healing and flowers symbolise beauty. The figures are often made up of two parts (figures), tenderly showing their relationship through their gestures.

The angels show elegance, simplicity and serenity and have a mysterious aura. They reveal their expression through body gestures only, such as a tilt of the head, positioning of the hands or a turn of the body. Their simple design is underlined by subtle painting and a lack of features. Therefore, the Willow Tree collection is very personal, as it leaves the viewer to discern emotions.
